Scholarship

The ECSU Atlanta Metro Alumni Chapter’s Vivian Ophelia Perrimon Scholarship Award Program is designed to provide financial support to applicable high school seniors or undergraduate students from the Atlanta Metro area matriculating at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU).

The financial award varies in amount depending on need and fundraising efforts of the chapter. However, the minimum award is $500 per student.

Eligibility

All applicants must complete the application process (in its entirety) and be graded based on the scholarship criteria. There is no special consideration given to students of chapter members and/or relatives. The application must be submitted with: (3) letters of recommendation from an instructor or professor or counselor verifying the applicant’s moral and personal traits, and (2) a copy of the most recent transcript. The financial awards will be determined on one or more of the following:

  • Need (students who are academically qualified to attend ECSU and need financial support)
  • Recruitment (students who are being considered because of high profile, high academic standards, leadership qualities, and who would be an asset to ECSU)
  • Funds (based on availability)
  • GPA – 3.0 ACT -18 or SAT- 950

Award recipients will be notified in writing of the scholarship award. Recipients must notify the Committee Chair of their acceptance of the award. Awards will not be disbursed directly to students but to the respective scholarship account implemented by the Atlanta Metro Chapter through the university to the student.
